Nightwishのフロントウーマン、Tarja Turunenの新しいソロ・シングル“Yhden Enkelin Unelma” (“One Angesl's Dream”)が、フィンランドのシングル・チャートで2位となりました。3位には同胞フィンランドのLaruti Ylonen (The Rasmus)、Ville Valo (H.I.M.)をフィーチャーしたApocalypticaのニュー・シングル“Bittersweet”が入りました。チャートはこちらを参照。
NIGHTWISH Frontwoman's Solo Single Enters Finnish Chart At No. 2
NIGHTWISH frontwoman Tarja Turunen's new solo single, "Yhden Enkelin Unelma" ("One Angel's Dream"), entered the Finnish single chart at position No. 2. Debuting at No. 3 was the new single from APOCALYPTICA, "Bittersweet", featuring guest appearances fellow-countrymen Lauri Ylonen from THE RASMUS and Ville Valo from H.I.M. on vocals. As previously reported, Turunen recently completed a video shoot for her collaboration with German "Star Search" winner Martin Kesici on his song "Leaving You for Me", which is due to appear on Kesici's second album. The "Leaving You for Me" single is scheduled for release on January 31, 2005 and will include the promotional video for the song.

2004/11/26 - Megadethカバー“Symphony Of Destruction”ライブ・バージョン試聴
NightwishがカバーするMegadeth“Symphony Of Destruction”の1分間のオーディオ・サンプル(2004年10月、HelsinkiはNosturiでのライブ・バージョン。ボーカルはMarco Hietala。1.46MB)がオンラインで公開されました。
Nightwishがカバーした“Symphony Of Destruction”はアルバム“Once”からの3rdシングル“Kuolema Tekee Taiteilijan”に収録され、Spinefarm Recordsよりリリース。このシングルには今回のMegadethのカバーに加え、タイトル・トラック、インストゥルメンタル(オーケストラル)バージョンの“Creek Mary's Blood”が収録されます。フィンランド国外向けには、“Death Makes An Artist”と言うタイトルでNuclear Blast Recordsより2月にリリース予定。このヨーロッパ・バージョンには、さらにボーナス・トラックとしてタイトル・トラック“Kuolema Tekee Taiteilijan”のアニメ・ビデオが収録予定になっています。
Live Version Of MEGADETH's 'Symphony Of Destruction' Posted Online
A one-minute audio sample of NIGHTWISH's version of MEGADETH's "Symphony of Destruction", recorded live at Nosturi in Helsinki in October 2004 (sung by bassist Marco Hietala) has been posted online at this location (1.46 MB).
NIGHTWISH's cover of "Symphony of Destruction" is included on the third single from the group's "Once" album, "Kuolema Tekee Taiteilijan" (view cover here), available now via Spinefarm Records. In addition to the MEGADETH song, the single contains the title track and an instrumental (orchestal) version of "Creek Mary's Blood". Nuclear Blast Records will release the single in territories outside Finland under the title "Death Makes An Artist" in February. The bonus tracks are the same, but there will also be an "animated video" of the title track on this European version.
NIGHTWISH will be teaming up with ANGRA for a Japanese tour next March. A U.K. tour will take place in February. A North American headlining tour with SONATA ARCTICA will kick off April 18, 2005 in Minneapolis. A complete list of the currently confirmed North American tour dates can be found at this location.

Tarjaのニュー・シングル“Yhden enkelin unelma” (“One Angel's Dream”)は12月1日発売！ Tarjaが歌うEn etsi valtaa、loistoa and Kun joulu、それぞれ別バージョンで収録した2種類のシングルがPassionよりリリースとなります。
既報の通り、ドイツの“Star Search”受賞者のMartin Kesiciとのコラボレートによる“Leaving You for Me”(彼の2ndアルバムに収録される予定)のビデオも撮影が完了。このシングルは2005年1月31日のリリースが予定されており、プロモーション・ビデオも収録される予定です。

Spinefarm Records will release Platinum Edition from Nightwish -album "Once". Release date is 24th of November and the album will include "normal" ONCE + songs "Live To Tell The Tale", "White Night Fantasy" and Nemo -video by Antti Jokinen. 24th November Spinefarm will release also third single from the ONCE -album. Single is called "Kuolema tekee taiteilijan". Single contains that finnish song and also instrumental (orchestal) version of "Creek Mary's Blood" and Megadeth -cover "Symphony Of Destruction".

Finland's NIGHTWISH have selected "Kuolema Tekee Taiteilijan" as the next single off their mega-successful "Once" album. The single will be released in Finland on November 24. In addition to the title cut, the CD will include "Greek Mary's Blood" (orchestral/instrumental score) and a cover of MEGADETH's "Symphony of Destruction", recorded live at Nosturi in Helsinki in October 2004. Nuclear Blast Records will release the single under the title "Death Makes An Artist" during February. The bonus tracks are the same, but there will also be an "animated video of the title track" on this European version.

2004/09/23 - Symphony & Nightwish
Metallica、Kiss、Rammstein、最近ではMotorheadといった輝かしいメタルバンドの潮流に続き、フィンランドのNightwishもまたオーケストラとのショーを行おうとしています。
ロンドン・シンフォニー・オーケストラをフィーチャーしたアルバムを発表したこのバンドは、来年2月のLondonのロイヤル・オペラ・ハウスのブッキングを行う計画です。
このコンサートは撮影されDVDになる予定もあります。
Nightwish: S And N
Following in the grand tradition of such metal luminaries as Metallica, Kiss, Rammstein and, more recently, Motorhead, Finland's Nightwish are looking to play a one off orchestral show.
The band, whose album features The London Symphony Orchestra, are looking to book London's Royal Opera House for a show next February.
The concert is also likely to be filmed for a DVD.

You hear it time and time again, European version releases of US acts always contain bonus materials, be it extra songs, video, different artwork...well, here is something you don't read every day - The US release of Nightwish Once will contain extra tracks, a video, and different artwork.
It's true, the US release of Nightwish Once (street date 10/05) will contain materials not found on its previous release throughout Europe. In particular, two extra tracks (White Night Fantasy" and "Live To Tell The Tale"), the "Wish I Had An Angel" video, and new cover art (see Nightwish's ARTIST page).

STATEMENT ON CANCELLED SHOWS
Many fans have asked us why the shows in Canada had to be cancelled due to U.S. visa problems. The band's manager Ewo Rytkonen explains:
"The band COULD have done the shows in Canada, because we would not need Visas/Working Permits to Canada, since the band do have a second set of passports.
However, since these second passports are NOT valid to enter to USA, even as a tourist, because they lack certain barcodes etc. which the US customs officials require in order to enter the country.
So, after doing these two shows in Canada, the band would have had to fly BACK to Finland and wait for the Visas from the US Embassy (they require that each & every person must come over to the Embassy to pick up his/her Visa/Passport.
So doing the tour this way would have meant that about three or four shows in the US would have been cancelled, not to forget that we would have had to buy an extra set of international flights for 17 persons, which would have been very expensive, since these flights would have been booked in the last minute.
So all in all, as disappointing it was to the Canadian fans and the band too, we just had to cancel the first three shows of the tour instead of flying overseas TWO times, losing even more money, maybe even losing the US Visas too (if we would have not gotten the suitable return flights back from Montreal in time) and not to cancel those four shows in the US, which would have made our routing as a nightmare.
In a situation like this there is no easy solution, you just have to take the one with the smallest damage, and this time it was the Canadian NW fans who had to suffer because of this, for which we all are truly, truly sorry about.
We are trying to reschedule the Canadian shows for the latter part of 2004, maybe even adding a second one to Montreal. Stay tuned."

Unfortunately the shows in Toronto, Montreal and Philadelphia had to be cancelled due to visa problems.
"Our US Visa applications were filed early enough at the end of March 2004, so the U.S. Immigration Office is the one responsible for not being able to handle these applications within this 4, 5 months of time. There was never anything we could have done but wish for some co-operation from their side. The result is as seen. We are very sorry for this and we understand that many of you are pissed. So are we. Big time. Naturally we will do everything we can to make this up and as soon as possible. The rest of the US shows will happen as scheduled.

After long negoations with different labels Nightwish has signed deal for Once release in North-America, Australia and New Zealand for Roadrunner Records. Nightwish hopes and trusts that this will raise band to the new level also in these areas. Next week Nightwish will start first North-America Headline-tour and hopefully Once hit the stores before that.

I doubt that the band will have time to enter a studio but Ewo said that the new album will be released in 2007. He also said that there will be "something special" for the 10th anniversary of the band in 2006.

ドイツのメーカーのサービスにより、nemo Collector's Editionの発売が再度延期されます。Spinefarmは出荷を停止していましたが、最終的には本日出荷されるとのことです。これらがまだ出荷されないことを不満に思う人もいますので、Nightwish -shopはドイツからCDが到着次第出荷を始めます。
追記：5月11日、入荷されているようです。

2004/02/12 - "MAIL ACCIDENT" IN NIGHTWISH-SHOP
Good and updated virus-scanner is not always enough; Big part of the e-mails sent to Nightwish -Shop 3.2.2004 and after were lost because of the virus-scanner. Program found one virus from incoming email and during deleting that mail, it also accidentally remove all (also clean) messages from inbox..
None of the orders made from Nightwish -Shop were lost so this message doesn't concern those messages. Only a part of the messages in which customers ask about their orders were lost. If you haven't got an answer to your e-mail for Nightwish -Shop sent 3.2.2004 and after, please send message again to shop@nightwish.com.

2004/02/05 - ニュー・アルバムのタイトルは“ONCE”
Nightwishはニュー・アルバムのタイトルを発表していませんでしたが、ある「Monkey」がインターネット上にリークしたため、Nightwish公式サイトで発表するのがいい判断だと思われます。次のアルバムのタイトルは“ONCE”です。
THE NAME OF THE FORTHCOMING ALBUM IS "ONCE"
Nightwish didn´t want to publish the name of the forthcoming album yet, but because some "monkey" leaked the name to the net, it´s better to publish it also on Official Nightwish-site. Forthcoming album´s name is "ONCE".
2004/02/03 - 次期アルバムの契約が成立
Nightwishは次期アルバム発売の契約にサインしました。アルバムはフィンランド、ブラジル、メキシコ、日本、チリでSpinefarm/Universalから発売されます。 ヨーロッパではNuclear Blast GmbHから発売されます。 北アメリカでのリリース予定の発表はしばらく待っていてください。
NIGHTWISH SIGNED THE DEAL FOR FORTHCOMING ALBUM RELEASE
Nightwish has signed the deal for the release of their forthcoming album. It will be released by Spinefarm/Universal in Finland, Brazil, Mexico, Japan and Chile. In Europe it will be released by Nuclear Blast GmbH. Information about the North American release will be published later.
2003/02/01 - “From Wishes To Eternity”SACDで発売
Drakkar Recordは、Nightwishライブ・アルバム“From Wishes To Eternity”を3月1日、SACD(SUPER AUDIO-CD)で発売します。ハイブリッド・ディスクになっており、通常のCDプレイヤーでも再生は可能ですが、最高品質で楽しむためにはSACDプレイヤーが必要です。インストゥルメンタル“Crimson Tide/Deep Blue Sea”、“FantasMic”は、1枚のディスクに収めるために削除されました。
"FROM WISHES TO ETERNITY" ON SUPER AUDIO-CD
Drakkar Recordswill release Nightwish's "From Wishes To Eternity" live-album as SACD on march 1st. It will be a hybrid disc which can also be played on normal CD-players but of course you need an SACD-player to get the full quality. The instrumental song "Crimson Tide/Deep Blue Sea" and "FantasMic" had to be removed from the tracklist to fit the concert on the disc.

2004/02/01 - ニュー・ビデオの監督はAntti Jokinen！
Nightwishの新作ビデオの監督がAntti Jokinenに決まりました。Jokinenはミュージック・ビデオの監督として、Celine Dion、Eminem、Shania Twainなどを手がけています。1stシングル“Nemo”のビデオはシングルがリリースされる4月に合わせて製作される予定です。現在Jokinenは、Renny Harlinの新作映画“Exorcist: The Begnning”にアシスタント・ディレクターとしてローマで撮影を行っています。ビデオは今までのNightwishの歴史でも最大の予算が投入されるでしょう。ビデオのあらすじはTuomas HolopainenとTero Kinnunenによって書かれましたが、Jokinenもまた必要に応じてストーリーを変化させる権限があります。「非常に悲しい、重苦しいバラード・タイプの歌。ビデオのストーリーは、愛よりも絶望と希望が描かれる」と、NightwishマネージャーEwo Rytkonen。

同郷のバンドStratovariusがメンバー・チェンジを行い、新ボーカリストとしてMiss Kと呼ばれる女性が加入しました。公式サイトに掲載されたインタビューでNightwishについて言及されてますので紹介します。
- (女性ボーカル加入ということで)多くの人が第2のNightwishを期待している？
- Timo Tolki:そう思うのは、すべての物事が黒白の2種類しかないからか。新曲は絶対にそういうスタイルにはなるはずが無い。俺をバカか何かと思ってるのか？
Timoは泥酔状態で、直後に別室に連れて行かれてしまいました。

2004/01/17 -次期アルバムのリリース・ショー
Nightwishはニュー・アルバム(名称未定)のリリース・ショーを2004年5月22日、Kitee(フィンランド)のIcehallで行います。非常にスペクタルな内容になる予定です。今までにない予算で今まで以上のライトとパイロが使用されます。そして、フィンランドでもそのオリジナリティあるサウンドと音楽でトップレベルの人気を誇るバンドも登場します。そのバンド名は2月中旬に明らかにされるでしょう。国内外の多くのメディアも招かれます。“乗り遅れないで!!!”
RELEASE-SHOW OF THE FORTH-COMING ALBUM IN KITEE, FINLAND!
Nightwish will play the release-show of their still unnamed new album in Kitee Icehall, Finland on 22nd May 2004. The show will be a spectacle. Nightwish will spend mroe money than never before for the lights and pyros. There will be also playing another great Finnish band which has made its way to the top of the Finnish music with original sound and music. The name of the band will be released on the middle of February. There will be plenty of foreign and Finnish media on the event so "Be there or miss it!!!"
2004/01/17 - アメリカ・ツアー！
Nightwishは初めてのアメリカ・ツアーを2004年8月～9月にかけて行います。北アメリカを3週間かけ、14回の公演を行う予定です。そのうちいくつかは既にインターネット上で告知されており、残りを含めた全ツアー予定はまもなくNightwish.comで公開されます。
